What is RSS?

RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication or RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 dan 1.0) is an XML (Extensible Markup Language) application with accordance to World Wide Consortium (W3C) specification level. It is a news syndication format and is being used as an agent to retrieve online news or online data from websites that support this application.

Why is RSS needed?

Technological developments in online publishing make tasks very easy, not only to disseminate latest information through the web, but also to track a large amount of information from favourite websites without having to remember the URL address or regularly checking email for latest information.
